RAMedia, originally Robinson Andrew Media, was launched with the advent of the dot-com boom, when journalist Tim Robinson was hired as a consultant for the first editorial team at Excite, then Architext. Robinson eventually joined the new portal full-time, and partner Jan Andrew, whose career spanned both journalism and public relations, began consulting with other small start-ups in the Bay Area until she was hired full-time by Channel A, a pioneer in Asian American new media. Both went on to work full-time for other dot-coms – including Alta Visa, NBCi, aMedia and AOL. Now Jan is in New York, ready to tackle the new global economy and its challenges.
